Chris

Chris began his dance career at an early age and with a Spanish mother with a passion for Flamenco and a Portuguese father who is lead singer in a Latin band, he was destined to become a star.

Coming from such a performance background, it was only a matter of time before Chris took to the stage himself as he started dancing at the age of 14 and within just six months was the Latin American Champion in his native France. Filled with a new purpose to rise to the top of his game, Chris decided to move to Lyon, where the huge dance scene meant new opportunities to progress.

A self confessed perfectionist, Chris juggled dance and his studies with great success gaining A* for his grades and winning every French Latin American Championship he entered.

His ambition wasn’t satisfied though and it drove him to move to London and compete at a higher level. Not speaking a work of English did little to put Chris off moving to the UK, his philosophy is to “go for it and see what happens.”

That he did and worked with London’s top dance coaches and mentors to perfect his moves.

It was here that he started formulating ideas to combine his two great passions – dance and business and when he met Jaci, Cuban Groove was almost inevitable.

To Chris success means “constantly working on different projects and offering advice to fellow dancers, choreographers and people who just want to learn to dance to help them reach their goals.” Chris has success in abundance then as himself and Jaci are amongst the most sought after dancers and choreographers in the business. Chris’s ambition, creativity and good nature are shared by his favourite dancer, Fred Astaire whom he describes as “one of the best dancers of all time, professional dancers today would find his moves hard to perform.”

Like Jaci, Chris incorporates all that is exciting and glamorous about dance but has the humility to inspire and motivate others to achieve what will make them happy.
